Presidents and kings come and go, but the Spirit of God lives forever.
I remember reading the true story of a group of Jews hiding from
the Nazis during WW2. They had been discovered. As the SS was storming
the doors to send them off to the death camps, a rabai reminded his people,
"Regimes and pogroms come and go, but the Word of God is forever."
For those of us who do not see Mr. Obama as the Mesiah, who are genuinely
suspicious of his hidden agenda and his mesmerizing oratory in lieu of any
real record, I offer this advice from the old Christmas carol :
"God rest ye merry gentlemen, let nothing you dismay,
remember Christ our Savior was born on Christmas day,
to free us all from Satan's power when we had gone astray,
O tidings of comfort and joy!"
Let us sincerely pray for our Country, and for our new President --
that the spirits of Wisdom and moderation will guide him, and for his safety.
But above all, let us keep all this in perspective: God reigns and
God will rule over all things in the end.
